Over the past few months, small business owners and marketers have seen a great deal of activity coming from the world of LinkedIn. From the recent removal of the product and services tab from company pages to the new LinkedIn Showcase Pages, LinkedIn has certainly been keeping users on their toes.
Recently, LinkedIn has made a change to allow users publishing rights to its Publishing Platform. What does that mean? Soon enough, all LinkedIn users will have the chance to publish content on the LinkedIn Publishing Platform.
1. SlideShare Integration
Will this new rollout positively impact your company page? When it comes to publishing new and engaging content, yes. As a business owner, you will now be able to incorporate content from SlideShare, which conveniently enough, is owned by LinkedIn. Slideshare allows you to upload and publish your company’s content via YouTube, PDF, white papers, infographics, and keynote presentations. This will ultimately also support your SEO efforts through building quality links back to your website. Users can also add images to the posts to create higher reach and more engagement.
2. Recycling Quality Content
Have you ever been combing through your LinkedIn newsfeed and came across an article that you wanted to share with your audience? In today’s digital landscape, your content does not have to be original. When repurposing content on the Publishing Platform, keep in mind to still keep your LinkedIn posts original so that users know its you and so you keep an ethical image for your audience.
3. Ramping Up Your Postings
The first step to creating captivating and engaging content for your posts is a catchy headline. Always ask yourself, “ Would someone click on my link after they read my headline?” Keep the first paragraph to a few sentences in length and straight to the point. In terms of the length of each post, keep it to 400-600 words per article. These numbers are not set in stone, so feel free to test the word count with different posts to see which word count is working best for you.
Considering the ever so changing landscape of LinkedIn and social media in general, it can be a challenge to succeed and make a splash on these online platforms.
